Thanksgiving Travel...Where Are You Headed?
A very strong storm system is expected to affect the Midwest in the coming days. It will also have an impact here in Kansas City.
On Wednesday, Temperatures will be cold with a strong northerly wind. High temperatures will only top out around 40. A chilly rain is expected - and that rain could change over to snow late on Wednesday. Here's the thing...the ground is still very warm and should help to keep any accumulation at a minimum. Also, there is some debate as to how much moisture is left once the front moves through Kansas City. We might only see a few flurries...just something you might want to keep in mind if you're flying or driving.
Speaking of flying or driving, this storm could threaten travel in Chicago, St. Louis, Denver and even Wichita. Chicago, Denver and St. Louis could see some snow...while Wichita picks up rain.
Storm should exit the country by this weekend, but the cold air won't disappear that fast. So, please give yourself extra time...and be careful this Thanksgiving weekend!
