A few showers showed up this morning in northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri. They quickly moved into Iowa. Cold front is still timed to arrive in Kansas City this afternoon. If we can get enough moisture, then a few showers could pop up after the noon hour. The atmosphere doesn't look that moist...and the atmosphere isn't that unstable to produce severe thunderstorms. Highs ahead of the front will climb into the 60s.

Most of Monday will stay dry. There is, however, a pretty decent storm system getting lined up for Monday night and Tuesday morning. I suspect thunderstorms to break out in southcentral/western Kansas through Oklahoma in the afternoon. If we see any thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening hours, they will be South and West of Ottawa. As these storms cluster together, they will move northeast and arrive Monday night. This complex of storms will linger through the morning rush on Tuesday. Would not be surprised to see some severe thunderstorm warnings Tuesday morning for hail/damaging winds.

Tuesday night through Wednesday looks dry. Then on Thursday, another system arrives to produce thunderstorms...too early to tell if they will be severe. This storm and the one for Monday night/Tuesday morning have shifted slightly. This shift can change our potential for severe weather drastically.
